Battle Bot Proposal

This is our team's battle robot design for B.I.T robotics project 2020

First Idea

Farmbot V2

 

As a team, our Robot design will have two modes. One having remote control, and the other having autonomous guarding capabilities with soft weapon activation on close proximity.

Our weapon of choice is to have a spinning blade with the option for interchangable weapons (pending due to safety restrictions).  The 'soft' weapon option would be a confetti  or cotton ball cannon (lol)

For robot movement, we have decided to use 2 motors (at the rear) and 2 dolly castor wheels (front). 

We have decided to salvage parts, aluminium extrusion profile and fasteners from our old project 'farmbot' to cut costs on materials.


Materials (chassis & armor)

  • Aluminium extrusion (recycling farmbot), corner brackets, pop rivets (chasis)
  • Aluminium Sheet (armour, spinning blade) 
  • Pipe (confetti cannon)
  • Ply wood (base?)
  • Dollys (wheels)
  • 100mm Wheels

Electronics & Components

  • Remote Control (FlySky FS i6x) & Transmitter
  • Arduino Mega (connect componets)
  • Battery:  Dinogy Graphene Lipo (14.8v, 1400mAh)
  • Motors: N6354 270KV Brushless Motor High Power for Belt-Drive Balancing.  Would like to experiment with DYS Storm 2550Kv brushless motors  (Currently have)
  • Motor Controllers
  • Servo (actuated party popper to fire glitter/confetti)
  • Sensors: HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Range Sensors (Autonomous mode)
  • Wiring (plans to etch our own pcb boards for tidy wiring)
  • An emergency switch to cut the power off
